I would say paint the back of your laminate with white acrylic, but beware of possible delamination due to a bad bond with acrylic. Small surfaces only!
…do your logo with vinylic tint
what is vinylic tint?
is this available in the UK?
is there a special ink/paint that can be used with screen printing?
…sure is available everywhere…
…yeah, this tint is for screen application…
go to a serigraphist shop
i was in the uk and for small logos (6"-6") ive used normal printer paper and never had a delam just have to make sure you fully wet out the paper.
I used some Sumi (rice) paper that I picked up in an art store for doing transparent logos… turned out to not be transparent. Sprayed two light coats of white spraypaint on it… layed it on top of a resin tint… worked great.
Get the heavy (thick) rice paper that’s not transparent when wetted out. Design your logo with a dark colored border around it. Print it with a good inkjet on the smooth side of the paper. Tape it print side down to a piece of cardboard and spray the back with several light coats of white Krylon. When very dry, brush off any crap on the painted side and cut your logo out along the border, right to the edge of the line. Use catalyzed lam resin underneath it (slow cure) apply alot so that you can squeegee it throughly. Cover it with a piece of 4 oz if you doing this on the hotcoat. These will never delam if you get all of the air out underneath it. Good luck
if i printed onto white paper and let it thoroughly soak in uncat’d resin, then applied cat’d resin ontop, would the chemical reaction make it through the paper do you think?
any one tried this?
I do mine just as PeteC described. .no problemo!
that looks pretty good
will any white primer do or does it have to be krylon?
plastic primer?
my brief searching around has revealed it melts polystyrene, this suggests to me its cellulose based?
anyone know what a uk equivelent is?
It’s just white paint…
one note, I spray on the paint before I put it through my printer… it gives it a bit more surface for better detail. Understandable the other way, if you’re concerned about your printer, but I’ve never had any problems with mine.
