i need to know how to white out the stringer when i put my tissue paper transfer on it, so a big line doesnt cut into my picture. i know theres a way!
Get the laminate screen printed with white ink. Or, if you don’t want to spend that kind of money, get some white screen printing ink and just paint it on the laminate where you need it. Just make sure not to let it get too thick.
or just paint the stringer with white tempra paint in the area you want covered. http://www.surfboardglassing.com
that works too. watch out though. it requires that you trace the shape onto the blank first and hope the laminate doesn’t skoot when glassing.
thas why you tach your laminate first witha small dab of lam resin, squeege it down let dry and afterwards when you do the cloth…it wont budge http://www.surfboardglassing.com
I had to do that once. I was impressed by the results of using a white Posca pen (water-based type). Takes about three coats and did not show any chemical repulsion/separation. I like the idea of a lam strip, how about an opaque white resin pinline prior to lamination?
that will work too but will give it a small lift/bump in that area if hes not careful. 1.paint stringer 2 tack lam as previously mentioned{make sure all resin is FLAT no bubbles drips runs etc.seriously put on like 3 drops, like 1/4 ofa soda cap full, barely any.OR squeegee a few drips of elmers white glue…old ghetto trik} 3. lam as usual pouring resin atop lam first. 4. go to town enjoy your board and have fun http://www.surfboardglassing.com
