Who in the North County area is a great old school shaper? You read about the board I am having made. Eight, three with a 22 width, seventeen nose and sixteen pintail. S-deck, like everyone recommended Single fin. Any suggestions on shapers around here?

Not in No. County but worth the drive (and wait) Skip Frye. I second Jim Phillips and also Larry Mabile (nice Frye influence and made some real nice stuff for G&S a while back).

Lance Carson makes a great old school board. He has a Classic 60s board that is a copie of the Hap Jacob Lance Carson Model. Which was one of the best of the Models. http://www.lancecarson.com

Not in North County (El Segundo), but he can shape you whatever you’re looking for. He shaped for Hap Jacobs for ages. Come to think of it, Hap’s a great guy to talk to as well, but again, he’s in Hermosa. So take a ride North, bring your quarters, and try a El Porto session while your up, it’s a good place to hone your agility skills side slipping (like Dora - talk about old school) through the crowd! http://www.tylersurfboards.com
