Can anyone out there please help me identify who shaped this board? I bought it off a military guy who said the board was his dads from the sixty’s? it has Lynch and Co WINGS on the stringer but that is the only info i have on it. any ideas???
h
Wayne Lynch possibly?
that has been the only lead i found do you know anything else about his shaping???
Looks like a backyard job. More likely from the early to mid 70s, judging by the outiline.
Where are you located?
I"m in Solana Beach Ca. The guy i bought it off didn’t know anything about surfing he just remembers growing up and his dad always having the board. He was guess the late 60’s
I would agree with Sammy - definately looks VERY homemade. The cut lap and outline are way off plus, if it’s late 60’s, Wayne probably hadn’t started shaping…
You don’t show a profile of the rocker but with that wide stringer, for that era, it could very well be a stripped and reshaped long board - we were all doing it to try our hand at shaping and keep pace with the quickly evolving changes in board design - and the dust didn’t settle on designs very quickly.
Doesn’t look like anything classic or valuable.
