widowmakers

stuey's , back from the glasser , yesterday . The first board he has made , the 'lost in the ether movie' and 'glass love' that I lent him apparently had an impact on him and marty [they have both shaped their first boards , stuey at 38 and marty at 48] in the last few weeks ..

stuey's is 6'3 x 18 x 2 3/16" . he intends riding it in north west tubes. And the occassional clean , bigger days here [autumn / winter , generally]

[Marty shaped a 5 finner , [not a widowmaker] , on the other hand ... his is 5'11 x 19 1/2 x 2 3/8"  ... wide nose , wide tail. With a back fin box , and four side plugs ..]

[the single fin may well be moved forward , once he has had a few surfs on it as a 2+1.

Also , I will give him smaller side fins to play with at some stage , if he is keen to experiment . At the moment , he has a 6" back fin in the box , and fcs G10 GL template longboard sidebites , as his setup ...

....and ....here's my 6'1  "orange stub"  ,  with my widowmaker fin setup ,  that Stuey rode a week or two ago ...

chippy that orange stub looks like a blast!.

... yep , it's fun , alright !!

It's one of four stubs that I have made [over nearly a 15 year period ?!]

I'd like to make another , probably a tad longer , and a tad wider in the tail , thinner , and with a "4+1" option [and , maybe red , so it goes faster , too !]

  cheers

Red is always fastest!
