wing nose longboard

moery pope penetrator and blue machine had this set up.down rail nose with 50-50 rails rest of the way.nose rocker flat with kick in the tail.it works REALLY good…

Aloha,

I’ll post pics of my John Peck downrail knock off.

just got the board back from the glassers…rides unreal. 50/50 rail with downrail at nose. Outline/template from J.Peck “penetrator”.

I used my last 10’3" Classic wt. Clark foam. Milled the board down to 10’ x 23"(at dead center) x 3 & 3/8" thick. 19" nose, 15.5" tail. natural nose rocker and I added lots of tail rocker/kick.

I should have taken more off the thickness…but this blank starts at 4 and 3/8" thick…lots of foam.

BUT this boards rides unreal…tested the board in south shore oahu swell last week. Head high waves. Noserides unreal

I started playing around {again} with wing noses, I call em drop noses about 8 years ago. I have made about every kind of noserider, spot concave, through concave, chine rails etc. I wanted a board that did not slow down on the nose, and would noseride in the steep part of the wave. These noses will do that, plus you can stay up there and almost ride em like a short board. One of the major changes I made was to mate the nose with the flat panel V tail bottoms I had been working on. Paddle better, faster down line, modern rail shape in tail for bite in bottom turn. This combo works really good. I also put a slight roll in the mid part of the bottom. FLAT TO ROLL TO FLAT PANEL V. rails are a soft, “inflated” feeling, modren rail. I also still make old style flat nose {bottom} rolled mid to radically rolled to deck in tail. 50/50 rails. I like the newer version better. You are on the right tract GO FOR IT.

Aloha here’s pics of my John Peck “penetrator” Knock off?

awesome ride!!!

Downrail nose and 50/50 the rest. I ride only single fin longboards…glassed-on. This pivot fin was custom made by Steve Mock of Island Fin Design. 11 and 1/2" Pivot fin.
