WNC foam--anyone tried it?

Hi All,

I have come across some adds for a company called WNC (Walter N. Coffman) foam products. They are making blanks here in SD but I haven’t heard anything about the quality. Anyone tried it? Thoughts?

YEah we use WNC over here in NC, and the foam is great, they can do it all, the quality is top notch, and all of those guys are super nice, they just got a longboard machine up and running in the past few months so they can do SUPs/tandem boards, you should definitely try those guys out

Hey C-Slug,

I am very picky, but I found the shaping is excellent.

Water absorption is minimized. We don’t seal their foam for lamming.

(Maybe dings are not as much an emergency as with some EPS)

Their CNC hotwire is very good, I email a side profile and I get an excellent rendering,

minimal shaping/roughing.

All kinds of stringer options.

Super easy-going guys, but they get it done quickly, which I like. They are totally

into doing single or “one-off” designs- which is good for me when testing stuff.

They ship worldwide with good rates.

We’ve used all kinds of EPS, we’re doing a batch of WNC right now, def worth a try.

Hope this helps,

George

Hi,

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I’m glad the responses are positive because I didn’t want to be the cause of any public venting. Just was curious.

I spoke on the phone with them and they seem really nice. The price is right. They’re about 10 minutes from where I live–too good to be true!

George, I saw a quad of yours at the Cliffs on Christmas day or around then and it looked real nice.

Rad!
