…Roger Hall - Surfline Surfboards - New Zealand great little movie…Some interesting flextail designs…
Worth watching?! I’ll say. Great little teaser flick. Unfortunately, nothing feature length to follow?
I’ve referenced Roger Hall’s amazing detailing before right here on Swaylocks.

Freakish tailblock, stringer and pigment work. Great shapes too.
If I were in the planning stages of a trip to New Zealand I know for sure who I would contact about a custom board before I left home… apologies in advance to Roy, Silly, Huie, etc.
Hey John
Huie lives on an island called Australia mate, home of the cold schooner and the vegemite sanga amongst many other of God’s amazing creations.
I’m sure he’d fix you up if you come here. Calling Aussies Kiwis is like us calling you blokes Mexicans.
Cheers
Mooneemick
I think Mexicans would take more offense…
californians who would take offeeennnnse at being called mexicans are new comers from all over the world the governor is from austria
the exploiters ran off the real californians who were originally mexicans.
point you try to make
is well taken.

being born in a city with a spanish name
in the new world warps one’s sensibilities

…ambrose…
the surfline line co n.z. could throw one into confusion
at one time kiwi was also a shoe polish
some thought it was better than shinola
not to be confused with fecum.
I just re read the prior posts
my knee jerk response was to address primarily
the mexican refrence
johns apoligetic comment
being inclusive
of spectral southern
pacific brethren
eluded me until re reading
I dint see his mention of kiwi
upon rereading
instances of confusion are
coming at shorter and
shorter intervals

pretty well,maybe we are related…?
you think?
escaped irish?
I’ve been called far worse things than Australian (often times by Australians) and old Rog makes some beautiful looking boards- that patterned stringer is the bollocks as we antipodeans sometimes say
Hi mooneemick -
My mistake. Sorry Huie!
Hey John
It’s a funny relationship between Australia and the Shaky Isles. We have an intense rivalry in a lot of things mostly sport related but when it comes to the crunch we are all ANZACS and would back each other to the hilt.
Those boards of Roger Hall’s are pieces of art and I’ve admired them for years , so I would agree if I was getting a board in NZ it would be one of his logs.
Congrats on your new President we all feel hopeful for your future.
Cheers
Mooneemick
That is a cool vid… and ridiculously nice woodwork.
Jim Phillips has also been doing insane stringer/fin/whatever woodwork continuously since the 60s.
VERY COOL!!
the chumash and fellow native tribes were original californians. people from mexico came later, and for the most part, didn’t like it here too much, which in part was why it was easy for the caucasians to claim it.(readers digest version of course)
i like his removable flextail idea for sure!

That is a beautiful phrase…glad-hearted to be one of them.
That milky brown barreling left looked mighty worthy of a trip across the ditch.
Was surprised to hear about his preferences for flex re: big and small waves.
Would’ve though the opposite.
great viewing.
Steve
the barrel is not nz and if it was, dont park you car there
youll regret it
miki’s hideaway’s not an easy place to catch on, but well worth it
