popout… what weigth will it handle? anyone ridden one?
my opinion is why not get a real surfboard?
quite rediculous in my oppinion. NO FISH IS RIDDEN 2 1/8 INCH THICK! In other words its a very strange board.
NSP’s normally have flatter decks, and can be correct float with that thinness.
Get whatever you want, you are the only person responsible for your own fun.
That size, that thick? Wouldn’t float my fat a$$ but might work for all those 5’6" 130 lb guys out there!
NSP’s are basically the same as Surftechs. EPS core with pvc foam/epoxy composite sandwich shell. More bouyant than Polyurethane core boards, so will be a bit thinner than the equivalent “standard board”

A lighter board tends to float a little bit better.
But NSP’s, from the 6’6"er to the mid 7’er, to the 9’ noserider, are all heavier than conventional poly glass boards. And have thicker rails! At least they do in the windsurf shop I frequented last week.
Haven’t seen the newest one yet, so neither of us really know!
Lee, Yeah that is the formula as I understand it too. I’d read that NSP’s were made at Cobra in Thailand using the same technology as Surftech’s so I’d assumed they were as light too. If they are heavier than polyboards with the same width/ deck profile, then for sure they aren’t going to float as well. Come to think of it, I handled one a while ago and it didn’t seem that light.
Didn’t the rails seem really thick, possibly to make up for all that dead weight?
I suspect, and can’t confirm, that NSP’s are sold by the peeps who make NeilPryde/Jason Polakow. If that’s the case, YEAH, another card I can call in! Current NP/JP rep owes me a favor I can call in anytime!

I repaired a snapped NSP 10’2" longboard a while back. It had no PVC core in it. The advertising says they are glassed with multiple layers and densities of fibreglass. The board I repaired had at least one layer of chopped strand matt on the deck.There was some other glass as well, but it was hard to tell what it was.The csm will account for the boards feeling heavy.platty.

this is my small wave board its 1 7/8 thick im 227 lb …
it catches waves real easy due to the width…

I have looked closely at these boards.
Surprisingly weighty, dull in finish & form, unrefined, for overseas tourists to destroy in the shorebreak.
If you gave me one, i wouldnt ever use it, not even once.
Also come with a fin system that no one has ever seen before and that means no decent fins, no way to replace them.
Dont do your surfing such a diservice.
Bert--------- You blow me away with your wooden boards and fins. I am definatly gonna come down there when I make my trip to NZ. I gotta check out your boards up close. You guys are right about the weight, glassing etc. on these boards. I have seen lots of them on Maui. Primarily as rental boards. They are heavy, a little sluggish and damned near indestructable. The templates are decent, the rails are boxy. They are cheap and mostly aimed at beginners. McDing
Looks like a kinda fishy board, but I’m sure thats where the resembelance ends. I’d been told by the dude in the shop that those NSPs were heavier/stronger than yoru standard custom so assume not quite the same as tufflite. Is a heavy 5’6" a good size for a first shortboard? I’ve seen those boards around as hire boards a lot as well.
However you feel about Surftech and boardworks is probably how your gonna feel about NSP. We have had alot of that imported sweat shop junk here on my home break. I have seen many broken and dinged. Just as many a conventional surfboards.
Interesting answers… no one has tried them and no one likes them… kind of what I was expecting…
I also found the dimensions funny, and the ad is’nt serious.
I guess popouts, tuflites and surftechs is definitive insult to all the hours spent in shaping rooms around the world… (well… i know the tuflite story ok… but still…)

McCook-------- I have ridden boards by NSP, but not that particular model. I would expect the same general performance characteristics. Boxy rails and heavier weight make for a sluggish board. McDing
Ive Ridden NSP’s before. they feel a bit different but nothing that drastic. My opinoin on this board is its hardly a fish. i would say its most suited to a grom at Intermediate level to use as their Shortboard.
But i must say this is NOT a fish. Just a wide nose swallow tail thruster.

Just like virtually every other “major brand” “fish” being thrown around on the market.
Also, just as a note - most boards like NSP - which I’ve test ridden - are crap imo. If you can’t tell the difference than you need to broaden your experiences.
