You've done it again Dale!

Sweet mats! It looks like George will be outrunning the dolphins with those wave-rockets!

Dale: Wow! As I look at these mats I have visions of early wave entry, outrunning sections and an incredible sensation of speed. What performance issues are you concerned with some of the design variations seen in surfmats? I’ve seen some that appear to have 3,4 or 5 air chambers with variations on pontoon size. **For those of you that haven’t considered adding a surfmat to your quiver, take a look at the Surfer’s Journal, an article entitled “Inflatable Dreams”. Reconsider the possibilities. Tom S.>>> Sweet mats! It looks like George will be outrunning the dolphins with > those wave-rockets!

Hey Dale, where do you tie the rope reins on those things…How am I going to drag it down the beach to the water without handles? Newbs

Tom S., Some of the issues that concern me are adequate volume and proper dimension based on the rider`s personal specs/preferences, general ocean experience and anticipated waves. Since these surfmats are both manually and auto-adaptable, many design compromises commonly associated with solid surfcraft are avoidable… therein lies the enigma of high performance surfmats: “…I’ve spent many days and nights holding your mat up to the light, trying to figure out the magic inside. The more I think about it, the more perplexed I get. It seems that surfboard shaping deals mainly with adjusting outer contours, while surfmats require you to balance both external and internal structures…” (ajl) Dale

Here`s the solution… http://www.vagabondsurf.com/whatMatters.html By the way, the white surfmat (the one without the handles) is in use at Burleigh Heads, NSW. Dale

Dale - I can hardly wait for the arrival of my new mat! I guess I’ll have to figure out how to drag it across the beach when it gets here.

No need to drag the mat down the beach. Keep it conveniently rolled up with a pair of swimfins, and you won’t draw any unnecessary attention to yourself. The other surfers in the water won’t have a clue as to what’s going on until they look out toward the horizon and see a nylon/polyurethane blur rocketing across the face of an unbroken swell.

travelled to the West Coast last week and of course packed my neumatic and vipers…surfed in LA with one of the worlds best longboarders, no worlds best surfers…BY FAR…he was totally digging the mat…i got out of the water and it turns out i was being watched…the guy is from hawaii…was totally into the mat…he used to surf with greenough in santa barbara and had been searching for a real mat…he said he knew mine was the real deal…he will be contacting Dale to catch a piece of the magic soon…those mats are truly magical

I’m sold! I just have to replenish the toy kitty…
