surely they’ve made a mistake?
a teaspoon of sure weighs more,no?
the fin system would weigh more!

Prolly a type-o…should be 1,845.
In some countries they use comas in large numbers…eg…1,000,000,000
So the board is 1.845 kilograms.
4.0675 ponuds
gee,then that’s nothing spectatcular really
thanks
Not that difficult. My shortboards about the same size come out at 1800g. 2x4 top and bottom epoxy over stringerless XPS. If I could get the XPS in a full length and not glueing two together to a blank + better glassing skills I’m sure 1700 can be done and it’s still strong.
But at the moment I’m asking myself if a board can be too light? When I try to push my airs higher the board allways ends up flying miles away from my feet.
I’ve seen too many video clips of Al Merricks bouncing all over the place in mild chop to be bothered with any surfboard that weighs under 4kg. Light is good, but only to a point. Heavy can be good too, up to a point. You’d want a 1kg board just as little as you’d want a 50kg board, IMHO…
The design looks unreal!! Definitely something Sways people could build. Maybe a little bit of Greg Loehr/Firewire influence?
Light boards are more responsive and perform better in small waves for high performance surfing, don’t box your thinking in Francois. Your heavy guns will be good for stability when your trying to kill yourself in quadruple over head waves in sth africa, will a really heavy gun tombstone more however?
