I am thinking about building a 10’ – to 11’ glider for a long rolling wave that breaks into a inlet in my hometown. Long rides with long paddles back .That where the length comes in. The template that I am drawn to is a long fish tail glider that i recently saw on Josh Hall surfboards website. His is a low rockered quad fin set up . I am wondering if it would work as a twinzer also. I would like to hear any comments or feedback from anyone with thoughts on this .Thank you
Here’s my thoughts…
I’ve ridden some long ‘glider’ longboards of my own and other’s manufacture. Those ‘fishsimmons’ boards that Frye and Hall make are mighty parallel in my opinion. Other pros that have made giant longboards (Munoz, Takayama, Bruce Jones, etc) tend to increase the width proportionally so the boards have more outline curve over long lengths. I move my wide points slightly aft and boost the tail rocker… Munoz and Takayama Surftechs have as much as 5" TR.
possible inspiration? i’d love to try one of these (or something like it). - http://deepest-reaches-surfboards.tumblr.com/post/89917553248/a-couple-old-megafish-still-goin-strong-at-sano
