In the beginning, I shaped this one only because I had the opportunity to buy this big Burford 12’ 3" gun blank and i wanted to see if I could shape a regular curve with so much length. It didn’t turn out too bad but nobody seemed to be interested in such a beast. Then Pilou Ducalme (one of our best french big-wave rider) visited my shop one day and he stopped in front of it. Since he seemed to like it, I gave it to him. That was not pure philantropy on my part: I was thinking about the good publicity it would be if ever Pilou rode a real big Bellhara or Nazaré with it. Since then, Pilou has been riding the board in various conditions and he’s in love with it; Still waiting for the real big test, though…
