16ft Bill Wallace Toothpick

I got a call from a guy who had seen my hollow wooden on show at the woodworking comp, he has a 16ft plywood Bill Wallace toothpick, he has been surfing it for 10 years, I’m not sure how old it is, he wants me to do some repair work on it for him, I thought I would just ask the question on here out of curiosity, anyone have any idea how much this thing might be worth? roughly? $500 or $10,000?!

Hey Robbo. You could try contacting Mick Mock. He is the guy that runs the surf auction at Mona Vale pub each October. He has moved his shop to Newport. It is called Little Dragon. Sorry I only have the number for the old Palm Beach shop.

I have a copy of his 2004 auction list. There is a 1950’s hollow paddle board listed. Starting bid of $300. From the notes I took on the day the reserve prices were a little more than double the start bid. The other person you could try is Midget Farrelly. I know he is into riding them. Last time i was at Surfblanks there was one in the shop. There is also a guy at Crescent Head who makes them. George ? can’t remember his second name. I’ll try and find it. Hope this helps. platty.

ps well done with the hollow it looks great.

George Cooper.
