1967 Chuck Dent

All you Huntington guys that know the history, here’s one for you. It is PERFECT, about 9’8", Dale Dobson bought it from the Longboard Grotto for 1500.00$. He brought it to me yesterday to look over, it looks like one of my shapes, but I never worked for Chuck. The board, for its age is not twisted, has beautiful rails, a nice nose flip and a bitchin’ tail kick, Who were the shapers for this era and who do you think it might have been (Randy Lewis)?

I don’t know if this helps, but I’m looking at some Chuck Dent ads from 69 (not 67) that list the shapers and designers…of course, it’s 2 years later.

Steve Bigler

Randy Lewis

Walt Phillips

Chuck Dent

Pat McGee

Dick Catri

Willie Jobson

Jim Waide

Robert August

I’ve got a 69 Chuck Dent Experience that’s pretty cool…stringerless, hull-like bottom, WAVE set fin, Jimi Hendrix and acid demon logos. Pretty fun ride.

Skip Frye.during the “Dark” times in his life.?

I’m opting for Randy Lewis, not many of the others you mention could have been shaping as well as this board was done for the era. It could be an entry for the judged shaping, almost todays modern rocker

I’m on an old magazine kick, if I run across any Dent info from 67, I’ll post it up.

PS

I’ve seen quite a few of your ads from the RI days…
