This is my is my first attempt at building a board. It is a project me and my son decided we wanted to try. So it us a joint effort. We are making it for his first board. I wanted to make him a board easier to deal with than the 9 footer but still give him enough float and stability. So after spending a lot of time with akushaper and boardcad I came up with this shape. Which I printed the full size template at staples for under $5. It is 6’ x 18 1/4" x 23" x 18 1/4" x 2 3/4". I used a us blanks 6’2" A in eps.
We are also gonna do a 5 fin set up with fcs fusions.
Any advice is surely welcomed.
If anyone can give me an estimate on how much RR epoxy I would need that would be a huge help.
Ya the first one she printed out looked like a cave drawing. Lol. But I stayed and made sure the second one was right. Got the profile and out line (half) all on one sheet do 4.70… Gotta love it.
Thanks. He was already catching waves on my 9 footer. I just figured I would shorten it up an make it wider so it would be easier for him to handle. The paint scheme is all for my benefit.
Cool video, but if he shows up at the beach with those pink gotcha shorts on chances are he’ll be surfing alone…lol.
Exactly. I found my old oneill legend from that era in all its blue and purple glory a few weeks back and I think they will be playing hockey on the river styx before I ever wear it…lol.
