1st handplane attempt

You saw my wanna be Surffoils plane but I haven’t tried it out yet. It is weird not too many people are messing around with this. Maybe because you’re the one doing it Surffoils, everybody knows when you jump into a project, you JUMP into it. They’re still waiting to see how far you’ll take it.

I get that Monkstar1,  a reply doesn’t require anything more than 30 secs.

But I thank you.

Are you using a hotwire to cut your foam?

That would be nice but no, just surform and sanding.

I’ll look into making a small one just for Handplanes.

Still innovating.

Yes you are. Great thread.

All the best

Here’s my 30 seconds’ worth of positive feedback: awesome! Thanks for sharing, loving the pics.

Huck and Greg Tate,  Thanks for the positive feedback.

Here’s a few of the latest…

7 layers of glass,  monocoque body, split level planing area, foam hand support build.

Still lurking Brett.

Your latest model has given me an idea.

Just wanted to say, I’ve been following Brett’s handplane (and other surfcraft) innovations through instagram mainly, and he’s the only guy I know who’s really making something different! And that’s awesome!

As a side note, I’ve been out of swaylocks for a long time and just recently remembered I had an account, so decided to come back and say hi.
Sometime soon I’ll post a few of my handplanes here too but they’re not as groundbreaking as Brett and his Orange/Surffoil designs. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheers,
Lou (Sal Handplanes)
