Hello All,

Wanted to say hi.  Not really sure how prevelent SUP is around here, but, I have gotten into building hollow wood SUPs over the past year and have learned a lot from this site.  I thought I might as well become a member and contribute if I can.

I had never SUPed before and wanted to try it so I made my gf and myself a couple SUPs.  These are strictly for lakes as I do not live near the ocean yet…  The one with me next to it is 10’ 6" and the other is 12’ Lemme know what you think!

Cheers

Nice looking wood work there, have you tried them out yet? I just finished my first hollow wood long board (not a SUP) so I can appreciate the effort that went into those babies! Let us know how they work out!

Thanks for the compliment!  It is definately a labor of love.

I got to try the larger of the two.  I made it wide long and thick for stability while fishing and it works out great.  The smaller one is in the fiberglassing stage right now.

Id like to see your work… do you have a thread going?

Nope I’m kinda all over the place. I did start a blog a few months ago. The hollow wood board is on there. it’s www.dwsurf.blogspot.com, also have you looked at the “show us your wood” thread. Some fantastic stuff there!

Hey your board looks great!  Thanks for the tip on the wood thread.  Im gonna check it out now.

You wanna see one awesome wood project check this Kook Box build by Wood Ogre, his craftsmanship is unreal! This is right up your alley!

Huckleberry is another fine wood worker and Jensen is a master.  All contribute here.  But, what I want to know is what kind of fish are you catching and are they good eating.  Mike

Yeah I think I have seen both of their work on another forum.  Wealth of knowledge!

I have not gotten them out on the water yet but I expect to be fishing for Large Mouth Bass and Northern Pike while inland her in Massachusetts.  I mostly do catch and release with freshwater fish.  Once the ocean warms up I will be taking it down to Rhode Island to fish the bays and salt ponds to snag some Striper.  Striper is probably my favorite eating fish.
