I got rid of the parallel rail, threw a subtle parabolic curve in, and lopped 6 inches off the overall length. It’s got a full length concave through the rolled bottom, and pinched 1/4 inch rails with a hard edge all the way around. It reminds me of an ice-cream stick!!! Now I’m just waiting for a day to test it, but it’s been nothing but onshore slop for the last month down here!!!
looks killer, put some trucks and wheels on it and you can skate it to the beach and take them off for a surf, thats green!! how big is it?? for prone riding or stnading up??
It’s 6’0 by about 16 inches by 1/2 inch thick. Before I re-shaped it it was 6’6 and it worked great as a stand up board! I’ll post some water shots and a ride report as soon as we have somewaves over here!
That is Awesome Idler (BTW, I like your new nick ;).
that’s almost exactly the shape I wanted to go for, but at this stage I kept it simpler. and it’s still not enough board for me to stand on (also because my second one is only 14.5 inches wide, couldn’t go wider with these Cedar planks.)
but, more important, I want to know how yours rides, because after I build a “longboard” (7’-7’6" is my next in line), I want to get back to the double ender world
Keep up the vision

PS: I really love the feeling of the Cedar wood, it’s super springy. it might become my wood of choice while I wait to trip over a load of Paulownia
i took all the fins out of my 5’10 and took it for a surf, it’s good fun, I could do 180 shuv its mid wave and then ride the board backwards. Kinda like an oversized skimboard!
