2 oz. cloth

Anybody know where I can get some 2 oz cloth in the Los Angeles area?

Is this too far away? I’ve ordered from them before. A little pricey, but they have a savers club if you use them enough.

I’ve been using thayercraft for a while now. I like them for the quality of material and the price. Their a little slow on delivery though, call them frequently to make sure it’s been sent out.

I HIGHLY recommend Thayercraft. They have 2 oz really cheap. I’ve bought from them 4 times and haven’t anything that even resembles a problem. They (Steve and his wife) are they type of people you want to see succeed. Check this out http://www.thayercraft.com/Style%202113.htm . If you get the widest pieces you can cut them in half and double your mileage.

I’ve been using the 2.1 oz. E cloth from www.fiberglasssupply.com on all of the bottoms of my boards. They are super nice, fast and send things out quick.

What kind of glassing schedule are you guys doing with the 2oz glass? And are you using PE or EPS?

I’m with daniel, I order everything I can from fiberglasssupply.com. They are great folks and always go the extra mile and treat me like a pro, even if I’m only ordering 10yd of glass.

Ummm…maybe I should rephrase my question- does anyone know where I can go and pick up some 2 oz in the LA area? I’m using a borrowed shaping room and am doing this on my vacation time so I can’t really wait a week for 3 yards of cloth.

Is there a supplier in LA where I can walk in and just pay cash and walk out?

Hi Jeff,

have you given the guys at HobbyLand a call? (could cost more but they’ve had pre-cut lengths avaiable)

Hey Dan,

Have you tried different types of glass at Theyercraft? And if so what did you like?

I’m looking to buy a 100yrd roll of 50" and cut it in half. They are very cheap,I could get 2.4oz 25"x200yrd for $90 if I cut the 50" in half. I ordered a sample of 2.6oz &5.53oz glass.

The 2.6oz glass was a very tight weave and I got some bubbles(not so good). The 5.53oz glass was a little tight & stiff but very strong(ok,a little harder to work with than warp glass).

They are the greatest company! I’ve tried several of their other glasses, but I can’t remember they numbers right now. I usually tell Steve what I’m looking for and he’s able to pick the right glass for me.

Agreed with Thayercraft comments (CMP told me about them and some 1oz he found with a super tight weave)

although remote very customer service and customer budget focused

similar to ACP (high end)

but you can’t beat talking face to face to folks like Ted, Gigi and crew at the local Fiberglass Hawaii while you’re digging through the box of seconds rolls.

how much do you need Ken?
