2nd build Mini Simmons. questions before I start

Hey guys,

I am really intrigued about these mini simmons boards and since I have a blank sitting at home that could be just right for such a build I might just get after it. This will be my second build and there are plenty of things that didn’t go as planned last time, so there is a lot of improvement to be made overall, but for this one especially I have a couple of questions beforehand…

 

  1. would you leave the bottom contour flat, or flat to vee, or which other would be the most original?

  2. would it be wrong to go for fin boxes instead of glass ons? even though I would like to try glass ons, I live in western germany and surfing involves a lot of travelling for us, especially by plane! and glass ons and multiple boards on planes is a big pain!

 

any advice is much appreciated…

Hey Cbass, you’ll definitely want some vee on that wide tail. Prefer glass ons personally but don’t think it wrong to install plugs. No right or wrong as long as it works! Check out Barry’s mini Simms concept, looks real dialled In to me. Lots of threads on these boards too. Enjoy & post pics. Slanj
