3 stringer glue up blank

So I don’t do polyfoam much anymore…quit in 2005 when Clark blew up. But this project I thought would be a disaster with EPS. So I’m pretty proud of myself here. 3 stringers, black glue lines, red wood, bass wood…pretty close tolerances, maybe off by 1/32. Finished board TBD

Really nice!
2 questions?

1- how did you cut the blank to glue the stringers?

2- what glue did you used ?

Cheers and good waves.

Also curious how? Hot wire, hand saw? I read old posts that table saw gets the foam to hot. My next board will be similar triple stringer but was going to order a custom blank with stringers in.

First you cut the blank in half with bandsaw, then I true up any wobbles with a jointer. Then I use a long taper jig with the angle attached to the band saw rip fence. This cut should be perfect…or you are screwed. Glue up is black lam resin. Blank glue’d and held with bike tires for rubber bands. Hope this helps. Maybe next time I’ll take some pics.

  1. bandsaw, and a long taper jig.
  2. resin with black pigment…put it on with a roller, and be fast

Cheers, thank you very much!

Top notch work.
You should consider doing a photo journal of the process for us “visual Learners”
Great work! thanks for sharing this one.

gotta keep some secrets.
