4 oz lam

Hey kids I got a question that I can’t get a clear answer to doing searches. Everyone knows I’m shaping theses wake surf boards. I want to save weight and use 2, 4oz on deck and 1, 4oz on bottom. Will the 4oz be to delicate as far as getting dinged up from just moving it around? I don’t want a bunch of pressure dings from normal handling. Or Should I just use 6oz and not worry about the weight? These boards don’t get shown any heavy surf, big drops off floaters or huge airs.  I’m pretty sure snapping one will be pretty hard.  Thanks for the help.

are/were all building wake surf boards... might want to check them out or shoot them a message. they might know... i think 4+4 and 4 should be fine but, i've never built one nor ridden one.

Hey waksurf I Have ridden a few and when you start doing airs those things will get trashed expescially if you let the wakeskate crowd on them. They are super hard on there equipment.

I would suggest using at least a layer of 4 oz S cloth with a layer of e 4oz on the deck. I would do 2oz under a bamboo veneer vaced on and a layer of S on that. Wakeboarders can’t be trusted with fragile equipment, LOL

Thanks Guys,  I am in contact with Surfdadcpa quite often, I believe he uses double 6oz and a 6 oz. Hoping to get some old pro’s to weigh in on how fragile it will be compared to a double 6 on top and 6 on bottom.  As far as wake boarder and wake skaters not a problem my crew only wake surfs. The other board I’m shaping is going to be the pass around board.

i  would go with 6/4 top and 4/4 bottom , if you and you crew are heavy weights then 6/6 top and 4/4 bottom, you will still get dings on a 6/4 top by rookie boarders who do not know how to get up out of the water,. 6/6 board would weight no more then 5 pounds dressed, unless you build a large board…

Thanks Lakewakes just the info I needed. Should have this baby wrapped up and on the water this weekend can’t wait.
