But it looks like you used newspaper to mask the cut lap. This never worked for me, the resin went right through and/or the newsprint rubbed off on the blank. How did you pull this one off using newspaper?
Also, with darkly colored rails, how can you tell where to cut the lap? or …?

I used 2 sheets of news paper folded in half = 4 sheets seems to work so far
yes cut lap is tricky the lap isnt completely solid except in a few spots so I doted them then cut that seemed to work also
I also use uv cat so I can kick it faster
