5 fins?

Hey Mike - yup, my five fin had a single big channel, and worked so well that after the board was totalled I cut off the tail section and kept it for future reference… it’s hanging in my garage. I have yet to try making one tho.

Hey KM,

Any chance of seeing a pic of that tail section?? Thanks…have fun…

I will take a picture later & post it here…

…No,there is nothing close on the market to date,a good substitute would be Mark Spindler’s MVGs(look-up “mvgs”).The Rusty C-5s are too far off the mark in my opinion.

…Let me know when you’re ready and I’ll make a set or two.

…Molding is an easy process to do,but difficult to learn, that is keeping the product consistent.

…Tom@daum has a great idea for a ajustable box system that mounts/installs like a Future or O’fishl type box.It allows the user to use different fins in the box(that’s why I call it a pirate box).It also allows for up and back ajustment for some box fins on the market today.Herb

KM,

Thanks, I will look for it. I have a template from roosters(ace 5fin…) board and would like a look at something similar before trying to build one. Since you both say they went well …I want to try one. Thanks…Sean W.

HerbSpitzer & MarkSpindler,

Are your SuperChargers limited to use with singles and twins or can they also be installed on a thruster set-up?

In the extended thread “MVG’s & SuperChargers” several posters asked how to purchase these but I didn’t see a website, e-mail or tel contact reply.

Are they available for sale, what is the cost and how to order?

(Rob Olliges posted some nice photos of the SC’s install on a fish of his - how did he get those)?

I’m in NJ, if that matters . Thanks, John

There are certain situations/conditions where a bonzer is just a better application. Figuring out the right time to pull out the bonzer would be the 64,000 dollar question. Double overhead Rincon/ J-bay/Kirra come to mind.

This photo comes up on almost every bonzer thread…

I ain’t complaining …it’s a work of art !!

Lokbox,

Not to offend you,but I have ridden/built/sold 3 and 5 fin Bonzers.In fact I have a Eaton Zinger in the 7-10 range.They work good in pitchy waves,but…

…They don’t compare to one of my Supercharged boards…not even close.

…I know you probably never ridden one of my SC-boards…lots here have…most keep it a secret…oh yeah if you say,“C-5. BLA-BLA-bla !”…C-5s don’t even come close.

Chips…checkout the board archive here,in particular #s 200 AND 201.

…There are several other builders out there that have entered Supercharged boards that they have built and entered here in the photo archives as well, most in the 6-7 foot range.

…As far as starting back up,and making more chargers for the public ??? I guess you can PM me and ask.Herb

…I’m a Dark Horse…Racing on a Dark Race course…

Herb, no offense taken. Not to offend you, but you claim these things pretty heavily, and one can’t help but wonder why they are not common in the marketplace if they work so great. Why don’t you send me a set so I can scrutinize 'em?

Hiya Jim,

I’d be interested to hear / see how they would go with the front four fins “turbo’d” ? [I’m serious…have you or anyone else done that yet ? If not, why not…? ].

Herb , have you ever experimented with curved ones , too ?

OK, I got three shots of the Ace 5 fin set up, check it out:

Lokbox,

...........It will be,in it's own time...........

“We” really never do Invent things…“We” just discover them.

…I have made 1000s and shipped worldwide, from Norway to Singapore.

…What would you like to try, Glass-ons or fcs-type single tabbed ? For thruster type fin set-up or twin?(((( PM me here.))))

Chips…Check the photos that Rob has submitted on Superchargers.Herb

…I think…Therefore I am…

Neato Keith., how does that thing ride? I think I remember seeing one of those at Rocky’s a long time ago.

Here’s one of my 5’ers

well, since a buddy buckled it and then I sawed it into three pieces, it doesn’t ride at all anymore (I sawed it up trying to get a big chunk of foam from the middle to make a bodyboard). But, it USED to work very well. Probably the best turning 9 foot (std. longboard shape) board I’ve ever owned.

I’ve talked to one guy who had a similar fin config on a larger board (10’6" I think) and he didn’t like it as well (not a good noserider setup!). I also rode a very big board (11’) with this fin set up and it just wasn’t enough fin for the board. And I chatted with one guy who had the same fins, but without the deep center channel, and he didn’t like it as much as I did. SO it seems to be perhaps a good setup for a backfoot surfer, on a not-huge board, particularly when combined with the channel. Not a tracky arrangement in the least…

Keith,

Besides the Ace swallow I also had an Ace 7 foot egg with the same set-up. It also rode really nice. I think Ace shaped with Eaton for a while and this is his spin on the bonzer concept. They work on shorter boards for sure. Ace has quite a following for his long boards, too, however.

O23, I think your template is from the six fin Ace. I saw a guy riding it a couple of days ago. I sold it on consignment about a year ago. I have a set of the two side hatchet fins. Let me know if you go threw with the project. Mike
