Stringerless styrene and epoxy.

Sorry for the double picture post. I just figured out how that happened.

Looks like fun, especially with the Star Fin. Bottom shape is? Dome-ish?

Looks great solo. My next one will be something similar to this. Love the fin.

Thanks! Yes…dome ish. Though I suspect Stall added some of his own touches.   The Surfer is really really good that bought this. I am hoping to have some shots of him surfing soon.

Is that a bump or a flat spot on the left side of the nose about 6’’ down?

I don’t see it, but it’s hard to tell with these photos. Steve actually sold this to his team rider and let him glass it.

nuggety goodness

Lovely lines on that one !

I know its just an illusion but it looks like theres a convex arch with flats either side running out the tail.....

Hi Solosurfer,

I love your board porn and I look forward to your next photo...and I hope you keep posting.....

but really....If some no name/ lame ass /back yard punk like me posted that board.....it's a big ugly slab of foam with a wierd fin.....Honest....

we can still be friends....right???

Ray

LOL.  No offense at all on my part.  You should have heard what Forstall had to say about it and he shaped it.    Fact is, these can be functional for some, but they are big, ugly to many, slabs of foam with a strange fin.  I like back in Surfing history and some of the biggest and ugliest slabs of foam ever made bringing big bucks with collectors though. I thought some of those were dogs in their day and still are.  ; )  Some likely feel the exact same about this type of board.

Also…to me, nothing someone shapes in his back yard that has had a bunch of passion put into it is ugly nor is the person doing it a punk.   I might call them a punk if they start putting poorly shaped surfboards in the local surfshop for $225 though… ; )

i don’t think there’s a bump by the nose, but i do think that’s one sweet ass and very functional ugly slab of foam.  were i a bit smaller fellow, i’d be stoked to ride that one, although with a gullwing in place of the winged keel.  maybe a bit of color would have gone a long way, but i’m sure he’ll be more than pleased with the performance fat whitey offers in florida surf.

He has some other fins to try in it also.  I’m waiting to see the pictures of him on it.  Maybe even an old Bananna fin template.
