5'8'' x 17n x 21 x 17t Pacman ride report

I was being good ben, i didn't go out. I think having a steel cap boot on for 12 hours at work didn't help!. It hasnt opened up so it'll be ok.

Im very close to putting our house on the market so i'll be too busy to surf for a few days. Just spent 3 hours with a high pressure cleaner. Its fun for the first ten minutes!!. Stamped concrete looks a million bucks though!!. I've definately earnt a beer or 4 tonight!.

Got a beer get together tomorrow. Mmmm UK ales through a beer engine, yummo. Im cooking a roast too. mmmmm meat!!

challenging times on the real estate market mate.....best of luck with it, find the best real estate agent you can, makes a massive difference from my experience.....

Talked to a few, 2 were sleazy car salesman, 2 were very nice, very honest. Hard to pick, but we picked a good one. Well, hopefully, find out in a few weeks!

yep, hard to tell, we picked a dud first up, he seemed very enthusiastic but that stopped once we signed the contract, now we have a young guy who has been great, communication is the key I reckon......all the best with it....

Some fin options!. The red stars are very small, which will be fun for sliding!!, The rainbow ones i think will go well in slow weak waves, and the red probox ones will be good for decent hollow waves. All fun and games this summer!!!!

I may even get cocky and put some longboard side fins in for some almost finless fun. Probably make a fool of myself though hehe

These have had a notch filed into the base, and will be getting a run tomorrow morning probably, as its looking smaller than expected. Also sanded a hard edge from about halfway, through to the tail. Pretty soft in front of the fins, and gets a little hard through the fin and tail. Hard to get too much edge on round rails without sanding through, or adding more resin. WIll see if i feel a diff.

this is one of my favorite threads Beerfan, thanks for keeping it going

Thanks chris, i like ride report threads. Dont like to add every surf but its a good reference for me when i change things, otherwise i forget haha.

I put these fins in the pacman for the last two surfs, excellent!. For some reason, they seem to give me more control, i think maybe because of the rake??. Not sure, and not worried, they work, and im happy!!.

good stuff Mark !

so.... how big was the surf ?   hollow ?

 Also...

do you have a photo of the fins in it NOW, please ? [ie: without the red Probox fin template between them and the bottom of the board ?]

have you ridden them / WILL you ride them with small one-tabbers in the one pluggers , in front of the Probox ?

So, please tell ...

 how they went off the bottom / takeoff / tube[s?] , re-entrys , etc ?

[...you know ME, I LIKE ride report , and board report , DETAILS !!]

Anyway , cheers Mark , for the update !

...you might be a mindreader , eh ? [I was just thinking on monday " I wonder how beery's " pacman" board is going, we haven't heard for a while?!" ]

ben

Surfed it with small one tabbers superglued into the plugs ( shitty cheap knock off fcs, shit threads ). Bigger waves, but i found more "squirt" through the turns, and seemed to have speed straight away. Im a fan of vanes/slot/supercharger/twinzer fin setups. I definately like them. I will post pics ben!!

Been a while, and i’ve since re routed in new boxes with 1/4" of toe, compared to no toe. Much better, seems to top speed straight away. I got low tide head high clean waves this morning, and got some great waves. The twin, fins are probably a little too loose, but shit I had fun. I will try it with keels hopefully tomorrow. I think wide, round tails need keels rather than twin fins, as I found if I wasn’t low on the board, i’d kook out big time. Dropped into a nice little over head wedge and was flying, but I was starting to get the wobbles haha. Just gotta go with the flow with this board, or I get bucked. Super fun!! Will post fin setup pics for ben later. Short wide thick flat round rules!!

For ben

yeehaa !

cheers Mark !

how did THAT setup go , mate ...like it ?

I have others I can send , if you'd like to 'pm' me your new address ?

cheers mate
