6 1/8 " Ryobi Planer on E-Bay

Sorry, I’m not too experienced with adding links, but if you do a search for “power planer” on E-bay, near the bottom of the list is this beast of a planer. Looks like it could work. I’m not seriously considering buying it, but wondered if anyone here has ever used one or something like it. I’ve never seen anything other than the 3 1/4" varieties. Does anyone sell blades that long? I mean, how does that work?

for $40.00 you can’t go too wrong.

the bed looks fine, but that’s a pretty wide body. and at 17+ pounds is heavy. Probably better for woodworking.

This is a carpenter’s tool. Good for planing long lumbers on building sites, not surfboard blanks. Except 15 footers maybe?

WTFB.

Way Too Freaking Big.
