6' fishy

"HELLLO EFFERYBODY ' ['HI DR.NICK!']

Well, i SURE had a GREAT surf this morning [EARLY,  before the 'freo doctor' kicked in !]

on a

  16 1/4" x 6 ' x 21" [?!]  x 2 3/8" x 16 1/4"  'zesurf'

the fishtail was ...12 1/4" [??!!]  tip to tip , with a 4 3/4" 'buttcrack'

 fins ....at 4 3/4 " and 11" up [yep , QUAD setup!]

I didn't like the supplied fins , so i used four of the MR TX template fcs [G10] fins .

and ..... the thing FLEW !!

it was  REALLY nice to do tight radius turns again !!  and to take off late and deep

i kneeboarded on three waves , too, as Ross reckons i look like george [i don't, it's just the haircut , apparently ?....yeegads time to shave it all off again , in that case ?!] ...  fish , being kneeboards , basically , go well as kneeboards , too !

you shoulda seen the face on the grommet i was surfing with , when i took off on one wave standing up ,then on the next wave after his [as he was paddling back out] , i pulled in KNEELING  hahahhh  classic ] . So, just  to further confuse him ,  on the next wave i lay down [ he probably thinks i'm retarded ....but it's all in the name of fun , and ... 'if it feels good , DO it '! ]

Personally ,  i'd LOVE a thinner railed , 1/8" thinner,m  [and, slightly more rockered !] and 1" narrower version of this board .

Being e.p.s foam and epoxy construction , the lighter weight sure felt NICE [especially after the 9'4 'pu/pe' mal[ibu] that i've been riding for so long!]

to those of you who ride 'quad' fins' ...try riding them with four small fins [all the same size] , sometime ...i think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the SPEEEED !!

 cheers !

Hey Chips, sounds like a fun little session! Did you make the board? I am interested in what the bottom is, is it flat or have you put a contour in it etc?

Keep having fun!

sounds like a fun session Ben! fun is what it's all about!

i've been riding only my quad for the last 10-20 sessions. this after only riding thrusters ever.

i'm really liking the quad for all the usual reasons... i was in the water yesterday. chest to head high

hollow beachbreak. really fast little walls that had some end sections for turns. i actually thought that the

board was plenty loose and could maybe use some more fin area. unfortunately i only have one quad set to play with.

fortunately, they are these beauties: http://proboxhawaii.com/pages/fins/fins_page7.html (bottom left corner).

i may have to order another set of fins from Larry. or, start trying to make my own but i've heard bad things about that.

hi 'bluebottle' [ he was also a character from the Goon show , you know?]

the board is a hot tamale , a demo board Ross had out the front

he also had a from memory 5'10 and a 5'8 , but they were both set up as twinnys . [mind you , one had three plugs , so i "could try a keel setup

i'd like to have had a back fin box as well , as single fin fish are still fun for me !

chrisp , send your addy in a pm if you like ...i could help you out there !

  cheers
