6' Flyer

Hi, ive decided on making myself a 6' Flyer. My last shortboard(Board #2 - 6'4'') had flaws in the foil, and maybe too much rocker. So i wanted something that would surf better. this will be my 4th board. the board dims are: 6' x 18.75'' x 2 3/8''. i had found rocker dims for this board: 5.75'' nose. 2'' tail. but im thinking of dropping the nose to 5''. so what im wondering is if this seems a good rocker.

also im wondering whats best for the bottom. single to double concave?(<<<this is what i had found online) and i could use some help on the foil. on my last board(2) i put a deepish concave starting in the middle going throughout the tail. this left more volume infront of the mid point. i couldn't keep my foot right back on the tail. so if anyone could help me with thickness dims in the nose and tail it would be great!

sorry if this is a little all over the place! im tired!

so to summerise!:

-looking for advice on dims on rocker.

-looking for advice on foil.

-looking for advice on bottom profile.

thanks.

will post pics as i go if people want?

(will also be needing advice later on fin dims aswell!)

just want to try to get this board to the best of my ability!

The modern shortboard is a hoax.

Don;

Last year I got an order for a similar board (my version of

a Flyer 2) and this is what I came up with.  I think that the

2 is a better all around board.  This one is a 6'4.  On yours

I would recommend that you go around 51/4" nose rocker.

(Just remember that tip measurements mean little, the important

point is the curve from 6" back).  Bottom is a simple single

1/8" concave blending to a slight double thru the fins. (see first

attached pic)  I always put in a little vee before adding the fin concaves

as it helps in rolling the board thru top turns if the waves are larger.

Hope this helps, pm me if you need more numbers.
