70's tube riding fish

A mate of mine found a box full of old 70’s surfing magazines in a warehouse.

A lot of the mags have had some pics cut out and they are a bit faded but there is still a few gems

amongst them. Unfortunately my scanner has decided to go on strike so I can’t scan as many photos as I would like.

I had to get this one done as it is my favourite so I got my wife to scan it at work.

It was a centrefold poster but I photoshoped the staple and crease marks out of it.

I thought some of you guys might like it.

Man, I had that pic on my wall back in high school! Great shot. I wonder if that’s a rocket fish or a single fin with a big swallow tail?

My guess is a rocket/gun type fish.

Some say that the Rocketfish was the demise of the fish.

My best tube fish was my 75 Dyno/Brom Fish…not too many boards in it’s range came close to it in performance,then and now.Herb

Is the surfer in the pic maybe the late great Carl Hayward?

Hey Ben.

I don’t have the Mag handy so I can’t say.

I won’t be on the net again until Sunday so if i find out I’ll let you know then.

I might NOT be able to find out as there was a few different mags in this box and I think this pic

was just laying loose amoungst them. I’ll try though.
