I’ve got one sitting around and am looking at some different options. I looked through the resources and it seems like a popular blank for 7’2" funshapes (which I really don’t want to make with it) and I’d appreciate some feedback on some ideas: 1) A pulled in 7’3" for bigger winter waves. Possibly 7’3" x 12.75" x 20.25" x 14" x 2.75" This board would have a thruster nose shape and round pin. 2) The basic fun shape…7’3" x 15" x 21" x 14.5" x 2.75" etc. 3) Low rocker 6’10" egg Which one of these will be easiest to get out of this blank?
I think the egg would be the easiest to shape out of this blank, as the rocker is already mostly there. A gun would probably be the most difficult, depending on how comfortable you are adjusting rockers, which you’d have to alter considerably to net something in the fun gun range. A fun board would be the compromise, but then you’d have a fun board (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I’m a big fan of the egg.
I just test drove my new 7’4’ winter gun that was shaped from this blank and it rocks. 7’4" 11x19.5x13.75x2.75 round pin.
Skip- How much (and what kind if any) rocker adjustment did you need to make your board from this blank. I’m actually not looking to make a gun but just a pulled in shape that emphasizes ease of paddle to deal with the winter rubber.
