8' chambered wooden minimal

Hey guys I’m new to all of this. Basically I came across a Chad stone book about making a chambered wooden minimal. With book I got a set of prints and decided to try my hand at making a board. The board is actually 7’11 1/2 by 21-3/4 by 2 3/4. I cut all the rocker templates and tacked them together and got(what I think) is a pretty good rough shape of the board. I’m getting ready to break it apart and chamber it. The book doesn’t give a whole lot of info on clambering aside from the length of the chambers(12-14") and to stagger them. Other things im curious about is fin boxes and fins and placement. What size box to get and are most fins universal? Should I put a layer of 6m cloth on both sides? I’m just looking for some help to get me going in the right direction. Thanks.

ps: I did a rough shape on the rails and domed the deck some. Plus I added a redwood stringer down the middle. I’d also like to add a redwood nose and tail block too. I was assuming that would go on after the clambering and reassembly.

I made one of those a few years back and the only suggestion I have is to get your rails shaped as close as possible before breaking apart to chamber. That way you know exactly where to stop removing material from the inside. No surprises like hitting a chamber when you profile the rails. Hope that helps.

Well I basically put a good 45 on the top and bottom of the rails there’s still a small flat side to them. I don’t plan on taking too much more off of them besides knocking down the corners some. And I plan on goi g the safe route and not routing too deep on the rail pieces. Thanks Tom. My name is Tom as well. Haha
