Nice! Is the color work on the deck resin or paint? Beauty of a fin, btw…

way2go - the board has excellent lines IMHO.
How did you get that dandy shine on the epoxy mate?
No Worries. Rich
The color on the deck is paint, createx, local michaels or online, lots of colors.
Getting a glossy shine on epoxy is really hard. I have tried several ways to do it from water based polyurethane, thanks Herb!, to sanding the epoxy and then wet sanding then compounding and then polishing.
But, I think for now on the way I will do gloss coats, and the way I got it on this board was to sand the hotcoat with
100 grit, then I microwaved the epoxy gloss coat, on this board 15 ounces for 35 seconds, comes out hot, then add hardner and additive F, then mix and apply. No sanding or polishing necessary.
Caution!!! The epoxy kicks really fast when you heat it, you have to mix and pour very quickly, but not so fast that you get zits or air bubbles, I do 100 rotations with paint stir stick, and then pour and brush out.
Also, be carefull about starting a fire because I don’t think that epoxy goes out with water.
The epoxy has a real nice shine when it cures and I have not found a way to replicate it when you sand it to smooth it out.
So if the gloss coat looks ok, I say leave it alone and tolerate the couple blemishes or sand it down and loose the shine.
