96SPOON019 Yater 9'6" Spoon 2-4yrs old...what's it worth?

I have been asked if I want to buy this board. It is in really good condition…maybe in the water 5 times…only fractures are from storing in the garage. Just to calrify…I think it is epoxy over balsa.

Thanks,

chris

epoxy over balsa???..you sure you aren’t looking at a SURFTECH POPOUT!!!

the whole point of a stepdeck is that it increases the flex. popouts don’t flex…so what’s the point?

no pop out here.

just describibg what it felt like. wood look…hollow feel. Not too heavy for it’s size.

You know…know that I look at it…may be a pop out…it is a Yater Spoon…

Epoxy over wood laminate woth foam core? Sounds “hollowish”…lighter but will last forever

Just looking for some guidance…I offered $535…a shaper told me don’t go over $600…but that it should last a LONG time.

Does it look like any of these?

Does it have the label “TUFFLITE” on it anywhere?

Looks like the 9’4" without the “stringers”. The Yater decal is over the fins on the deck. Didn’t see tuflite but I’m sure it is…

What do those cost new? She said she’d sell it to me for $550.

You can get a brand new one for $700ish. It would depend on the condition but $550 sounds high for something 2-4 years old.

and please keep in mind just how much pop-outs suck.

here’s how Tuf-Lite and other pop-outs “last forever”… (this reportedly happened in chest-high surf) …

Howzit soulstice, The first time I saw one broken and got a good look at the inside I couldn’t believe how the cheap the materials looked. I could have sworn there was cardboard wrapped around the styrofoam that looked like a cheap cooler.Aloha,Kokua

the Memory of an unbroken tufflite will last forever .

The boards themselves are subject to spontaneous reality checks.

A great deal on a tuflite would be buy it ride it sell it before it breaks and take the money and build a board yourself from the proceeds, monetarily and experiential…

how can you think of denying the world of a board hand made by YALL

Hola,

Please, go to www.boardlady.com and take a look at “anatomy of an epoxy board”.
