A big thanks for the Seminar

I just want to say thanks to Greg, Terry, Ken, Hank, Daddio, and anyone else who was involved in the Seminar on epoxy. I think that for those of us who have been on Swaylock’s following the epoxy thing, it really gave an opportunity to see all the things we have been reading about. After watching Greg lam that board, it makes you wonder why anyone would use polyester.

I think that there were some people there who have been in the industry for years and had no idea what is going on in the epoxy/eps world. The 2.5 and 3.0 eps seems like it is overcoming one of the last hurdles to getting people to accept epoxy.

Thanks again

i won’t be completely sold until i can do abstract resin work with it. but in the meantime, it certainly has its applications.

…can we SEE it , please ?? …did anyone remember to VIDEO it ?

cheers !

and yes …was there any resin swirls demonstrated there ?

Tom Sterne is doing some really nice shapes and glasswork (including abstracts) using EPS/Epoxy technology…

The only problem with abstract resin work and epoxy is that abstract resin work usually has alot of waste and that really drives the cost of when using epoxy.

Sure epoxy is more expensive in general but use normally use so much less that the net cost is not that high, but with the abstracts then you back to waste and cost.

As a home builder I think the cost is worth the benefits (including the environment).

That abstract belongs in the MoMA next to a Pollock. Can you post tips.

thanks very much for the photos …

I like the look of the carbon fibred board the best !

those blanks look nice . The green resin tint is a beauty !

And thanks , tiny universe …reassuring to hear it was filmed .

Keep us posted on how we can get to see the footage , please ?

cheers !

ben

You can also glass with epoxy, then glass over with poly resin to do tint works and all that . . . or just refigure out tint work and colors with epoxy resin . . .
