A Little Help Aging This Board Shaped by The Mongoose???

Hoping for help in determining the year this board was shaped. It’s an 8’6" Hobie single stringer (additional photos in Board Archive). I’ve had it since '88 and even emailed back and forth with Mickey Munoz to see if he could help narrow down the year. He said it was 60s, but couldn’t tell exactly when.

The fin box is an early Fins Unlimited so I’m thinking '69. Very soft rails, continuous rocker (3" in the nose and 2 3/4" in the tail), bottom contours taper evenly from teardrop concave in the nose to convex tail.

Appreciate the help.

Hobie wasn’t using Fins Unlmited in 1969, plus yours looks like a third generation FU box.
Hobie had their own fin system from about 1966 to 1969. The second type they used was Guidance System fins and those were around until 1971.
This is an “early” Fins Unlimted rig. Not adjustable, 1968

Here is the second generation FU style, called a “Vari Set”. Used from 1969 to around 1971, when the style currently in use was first adopted.

If that leash plug is original to the board, then the board is no older than 1973.
