A little help? (Repairing crease/buckle)

I have a board I picked up about 7 months ago. About a week after picking it up I noticed that there was some delam or something under the logo (see attached images). It basically it looked like an oval shaped pressure ding, but if you backlit the board you could see a dark spot and it looked like the stringer was cracked. After riding the board on and off for a while, the stringer is starting to push up the glass. Right now it’s just a minor crack, but I dont want it snapping under my feet.

So my question(s):

  • Do I bother fixing this?

  • If I should fix it… What would you guys recommend.

(The board is a 5’8" standard PU)

Attached an image of the damage as it is today…

help!

please.

get it fixed by a pro and sell it .

There is literally no one around for miles (about 70) and even then I dont know about the quality of repair. So, I was going to try to do it myself.

You're trying to restore the skin/core bond, and the integrity of the skin; without creating stress risers. It's mission impossible, almost.

Thanks for the input. I think the bond was never there… Either the resin never cured or there was no resin under the laminant to begin with. It’s just odd that it appears depressed, rather than a bubble. I was hoping injecting resin or worst case scenario, cutting it out and glassing it would be a suitable fix.

    Howzit redreef, Cleanlines lives in Ga. but don't know how far he is from you. Just sand it down through any delam and glass a few diamond shaped layers over it. Basically the same as a broken board but easier.Aloha,Kokua

Thanks Kokua. I’ll touch base with him. For the time being I threw so resin on there to keep it water tight 'till my new board arrives. Then I’ll track down a sander and knock this thing out.

If you dont have the heart to give it a go, you can bring it to me if you like, or bring it to aqua east as i do all their repairs-josh
