A question for discussion

A question for discussion:

  • Since most surfboards are made with the thicker/stronger layer on the top skin to protect it from heel dents etc.

  • Knowing that the top is also more domed and theoretically harder to flex because of it’s shape.

  • The top most often is in compression and the bottom in elongation during a turn.

Would there be a noticeable difference if the bottom had more stiffness (more layers) than the top? without considering heel dents and longevity.

Yes , for sure. But that’s just me and I am curious what others think.

You would end up with a very stiff board like a Surftech , some folks like em stiff .
