Tom…After checking out you 7’0" hybrid egg in the board section, I wondered what kind of rocker did you use on this board? Was it flat like a fish or more like a hybrid? Did you flip the nose at all? Does it have a flat bottom like a fish or is the tail vee’d? Any use of concaves? One last question, why a twin? Whats the advantage over a tri or single? I really like the look on this board great job! Thanks, Tuna.
Tuna: I used an 8’3" E as that was all I had.(I like the 7’11"R for this size board too). I centered my template above the midpoint of the blank and ended up with about 4" of Nose rocker and 2" of Tail rocker. By today’s standards it has a relaxed rocker. I usually roll the bottom a bit in the front 1/3, flat in the mid section and a mild double concave beginning on the entry points in front of the fins. After riding a couple of these with and without a trifin/trailer type setup I found I preferred the large twins better. Herb’s superchargers work well in the 2 I tried them on too. The twins just had more drive and a nice feel in the turns. Let me know what type of surf you intend to use it in and maybe I could help with possible changes.
