Some paulownia, a gift from the LA Wegener and some salvaged redwood I got for free off craigslist…
I guess this means I can surf a garage door.
Anywho…belt on my jointer/planer went south as I was finishing the thickness planing so I jointed an edge by hand.
now that all this lumber is cleaned up, it is ready to be ripped for the panels
panel one clamped and glued
panel two finished
the local houligan helped glue and clamp
I love your projects. Can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

Where’d you get all those tools??? Does the wife know?

it’s getting to be that time of year again…I think I’ll have the right arsenal for the park’s dredging summer conditions…no more big payouts to the ding repair guy this year (knock on wood).
making a template…lots of bumps to suss out.
laying it down
one of two
tail blocked
we’ve got some sanding to do tomorrow…
Nice, they look sweet.
I think I need a new shelf for the garage.
I have a nice smooth wood burner with several pens if you are interested.
Looking forward to more picts

Looking good. By the way, the midi simmons board is working unbelievable. I’ve got to get one of these. Been having a blast on it.

finished outline
belly and up rail in the nose
going flat through the first third
then introduce a concave in the center
that deepens out through the tail
I planed the slight roll on the deck side and the rolled chines on the bottom using my hand planes.
The concave was put in using my Power Pads…hard with low grit to really get in there and then soft with gradually finer grits to blend and smooth.
I kept a hard, flat edge that’s a little shy of 10cm from the tail to about 12" short of the nose where it begins to blend with the forward belly.
