AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I started skinning a new blank this afternoon. As I was doing the last pass on the left side, the motor of the Skil just went mad as the barrel stopped turning. Even before I released the trigger, I knew what had happened:

There’s an E-bay store that seems to carry a few of these belts but they ship only to the States and Canada… Anyone knows where I can get one?

Give me the link, I'll buy a couple and ship 'em to you.

edit: Found 'em. Let me know if I can help you.

Allen

Allen, check your PMs. And thank you so much.

Argh is right.

Now, there's nothing magical about the Skil belt, it's just a toothed drive/timing type belt of a paticular size. So....

Might be they have something that'd work?

hope that's of use

doc...

Doc, thank you too. I had thought of that already, but the last time this happened to me with my old Ryobi, I tried this but to no avail: many belts would ALMOST fit… ALMOST…

But looking for such companies, I noticed one that makes custom orders on precise specs. Wondering what it would cost to have a small series made as i am sure some people out there would be interested…

let me know if you require any assistance with shipping or receiving.

Thank you, Tyler. It looks like Surfthis has already taken care of everything. Thanks to you all. This place is magic.

Hi Balsa,

glad you got that sorted. One thing you should check though is a mail forwarder in the US. It helps when you encounter someone who will not(or can’t) ship outside the US, and in many cases it’s less expensive too.
