Aamion Goodwin, Pipe, Wood 10' Board....

Surfer mag

Each day a step closer …

Howzit Nuclear, Just talked to AAmion a week or so ago at a friend's memorial service. Known him since he was a kid and he also used to judge contests with me. Great guy and a great surfer.Aloha,Kokua

Yeah,outstanding surfer, alright.

I gather he’s spent a lot of time in NZ over the years too.

I thought I’d draw attention to the article cos I wonder if he might feel a connection when a certain other long wooden surfboard arrives in Hawaii.

Just a random thought ,I wouldn’t presume for a second to speak for or to anybody.

Whatever, that’s a sick shot.I love the way his little finger’s tickling the face.Talk about grace under pressure.

Contrary to current popular belief, plenty of Pipeline waves were ridden in the early to mid ‘60’s, on 10’ foot boards. Nice to see it being done again.

Howzit Nuclear, The more I look at the picture it looks more like Reef Mcintosh then Aamion, another Kauai boy Aloha,Kokua

The article says it’s Goodwin, Macintosh is regular-foot. They do look alike though. Isn’t Goodwin like 6’6"?

Jim says the board is the 10’6" and weighs in about 60 lbs…

Here’s the link another discussion on Sways

And a shot from Surfer which is now my desktop:

He should be on the nose in that shot!

Howzit Lance, Yep Aamion is a goofy foot and Reef is a regular foot. Didn't even think about that, it just doesn't really look like Aamion. He is about 6'6" tall, just talked to him a couple of weeks ago.Aloha,Kokua

That is really a great shot!

And what a cool board, anybody have any dimensions or photos of that board?

or any photos of the fin that was used. A totally wood board, truly Hawaiian style.
