Lets hope we didn’t use all our good wave karma by scheduling the last one off season, as this one should be right in the wheelhouse for some good waves.
just like last time we want to keep it low key and banner free, everyone is welcome, just leave your logoed easyups at home.
shape it, buy it ,borrow it ,bring it, show up and ride it.
Many of the usual suspects have confirmed their presence once again. we will be giving away a limited number of event shirts to the deserving and attitude free, so show up early if you want a shirt.
Test ride something different from your favorite underground shaper,or bring your homebuilt to ride and compare.
After Party
Where is still yet to be determined, however but there will be one like last year and it will be posted on this thread.
Like a car show but in this case you get to take them out for a slide.
Many of the usual suspects have confirmed their presence once again.
Too bad NONE of those ‘suspects’ are regulars at Cardiff, the peeps organizing this event aren’t either!
I’m sorry, but I just can’t support this. Cardiff aka ‘Crowdiff’, is packed with people, especially on the weekend. This is my number one spot, and I’m very high on the totem pole there. I’m can barely tolerate all the regulars, and really don’t need to be invaded by a yet another huge contingent of outsiders intent on surfing their brains out. A group that will be attempting to sit inside and call you off the set tactic, too bad, so sad, homey don’t play that game.
I’ll be there on my three fin 9’0" readdy to do battle. Ya know what? This may just be the day I decide to start the SUP stuff.

I wonder if they will cancel the event now that they don’t have his endorsement? “too bad, so sad, homey dont play…” Good one, can’t remember the last time I heard that one. Geez. I hardly ever go there anymore now, as there are lots of bozos and wavehogs, but I’ve surfed Cardiff reef since long before there was such a thing as a board like this, or an attitude like this:

Kinda makes me sad. Surfing ain’t what it used to be… good luck defending your own personal wave on a weekend. Maybe someone will bring a video camera and record the fun for the judge’s benefit later.

I am pretty much against coercion and violence yada yada but…anti-social behavior brings to mind the corrective of a duct tape induced “time out” on the beach. Might take several dedicated “police” to set it up but long ago I remember “kook kids” being masking taped to lamp posts and roof racks etc…
I know Guy Takayama and He was there last year (although really working with his team more so than anything else).
We chated a bit and hope He brings down some demos.
