Pulled up to my local spot yesterday morning. There was a minivan with NY plates in the spot next to my car. The owner of the car was out at a spot that wasn’t really working due to wrong swell direction. Meanwhile, a quarter mile East the beachbreak by the cliffs was waist high, clean, and empty. I knew where I was going to paddle out. As I suited up I glanced into the minivan and spotted this. Seems the driver has a habit of bad decisions.
Points at least for being one of the most detailed not made her stickers ive seen.
Haha yea that is hilarious. Never seen that before.
Poor Bobby is rolling over in his grave.
Sad.
I thought the same thing Barry.
What a shame.
Always thought “the nerv’” was a Curlyism.
All the same the nerve of some folks!
Shit I doozed off did Curly ever say it?
Tinker wanted to fight for his label, I along with everyone else said don’t bother, I sent the art to Boardlams and got a tube of these lams almost over night. Tinker’s motto, you can’t hide shit on clear boards, I glued these, made the fins and tail blocks for the Proffesor on this set of boards, plus set my shaping room aside for a week. Now to get his back in town again
My first new board was a Challenger. 7-2 round pin bought in San Diego around 1974. Select Surfshop I think. Blue tint. Beautiful board. Who would have built that board? Mike
Most likely suspect, would be Bobby Thomas. I know he consigned boards to Phil, at Select Surf Shop.
Thank you Bill.
…hello Jim, I disagree with the clear boards. Painted boards with gloss show everything; clear boards hide lot more; see those CI etcs (tiny bubbles all over the rails; scratches; blemishes on the hot coat, burns on the sanded gloss coat, sanding marks on the sanded hot coat, etc.
Nothing of that you can hide on a solid bright airbrush with gloss.
–by the way, the combo that the sticker says is the best combo.
that’s why they are all sanded finish, mute what is beneath
