Ok so ive built 5 boards so far - obvisously i didnt shape these exact boards but i did my best to copy them.
8 x 22 x 3 Rusty Mini Tanker for my girlfriend
6 x 2.75 x 2.68 Lovelace Pedestrian Ship - love this thing came out awesome.
6’5 x 20 x 2.5 Jim Banks Revolution Step up - too much continous rocker for the waves were im at - this one came out wierd. Will sell it but almost feel guilty selling it.
6’1.5" x 19.50 x 2.0 Squash tail thruster for the the local fast riffling non barreling heavy reef break this board is good, but i should have gone a quarter inch thicker for a little better volume
5’9 x 20.88 x 2.25 CI Febs fish love this board but i put too much staged rocker in the nose and the take offs are a little slow. feels like it plows a bit, shouldnt have put as much flip in it.
All the custrions are EPS, some with some without a stringer and all with flax and and s cloth. some times 4 ounce some times 6 ounce.
I’m trying to decided what to do for my next board. Either I refine and remake one of the shapes ive already made or I make a a net new board. If i go net new i want to do a mini simmons -esque groveller like a lost party platter or go tomo neutrino or something along those lines.
Part of my process is using akushaper to best i can get the outline and rocker profile, which is something i struggled with getting good images for the rocker of the febs fish.
What do y’all recommend? Make a net new shape or try to refine one ive already got?
