I am having a little bit of difficulty with the archives. Has anybody (or can it be done) out there ever done an acid splash using water based acrylic paints rather than the traditional pigmented resin? If so would the process be similar? Would the paint be applied with a squeege? A brush? Howz about taped off areas? Is this doable?

Howz about taped off areas? Is this doable? …yes,do it on the foam, like regular painting.Taping off is the same, and you can apply it with literally whatever,a squeege, squeeze bottles, brushes, fingers(use gloves),even stand-up the blank and throw paint at it.Herb

If your going to throw paint at your board, lay the surface down and from above throw the paint or you’ll get runs tha will look like crap. Also you can ,using some form of compressed air, blowing thru a straw or using a compressor, move the paint around on the board . Stay away from any large area of black as it will heat up in the sun.

Ok, will pick up a 12 pack of Hinano…and then? Maybe better do tape off first, then get beers.
…Beers after taping off is a good thing, unless you like abstract tape lines.Herb
