Has anyone tried upping amount of hardener in Epoxy to speed up curing times? It’s pretty cold over here in NZ so I was wondering, if you upped the ratio from say 2:1 to 2:1.2 or something like that would it help speed things up a bit?
no…that’s not how it works. you need to keep the ratios proper, otherwise it won’t cure properly. too little hardener and it stays gooey, too much and it gets all foamy and crusty and cracked.
if you want it to cure faster, warm the resin BEFORE mixing in the hardener. just put it in the microwave for a few seconds. it’ll heat it up and thin it out. then add hardener and mix thoroughly. having the resin heated up will shorten the gel time.
Cheers.
