Air bubbles in glass

Hey there just wanted to get your opinion. I got a board yesterday, I’ve noticed there are a lot of air bubbles in the glass, some in the surface, some below. Do you reckon it’s watertight? It’s a pretty solid glass job so it’s probaly fine. I’ve never seen this on a board before so just thought I’d ask

Not good. the glasser needs to fix that. I hope you get satisfactory service.

All boards have bubbles in them, even the master glasses Resinhead get bubble from time to time. It depends on what the bubbles look like ? Usually the hot coat fills bubbles, then the gloss will seal even more. So the bubbles will be sealed under resin. Bubbles can lead to weak spots and cause the board over time to leak or break. But for the most part it’s a cosmetic thing.   Are they on the nose and tail, or on the flats…is it a dry patch, or just random bubbles here and there.  Show us some pics and we can take a lookie.

I got 3 bubbles in 2011 on a board, and then back in 1993 I had a board that had 4 bubbles! From 1985 through 1992 I had a total of 10 bubbles.

On the nose, it’s probably fine, anyway I think I’ll fill it myself just in case

Not bad.

Perhaps a little “stuffing” dobs of catalyzed sanding resin and a fine sanding.

Nice blank…

Dremel with a pencil bit will open that up nicely.

Solar-ez if PU.
