Airbrush noob. Recommended airbrush paint?

Howsit sways,

I’m restoring another old board.

An 80’s tri fin egg. It had lots of dings and a massive delam on the deck. I have kept the original signature in tact.

I have always tried to use resin color to fix boards. But want to airbrush to match the old patina of the 40 year old board.

I normally use Montana gold NC acrylic spray cans, but it’s getting expensive buying individual cans.

Is there a recommended acrylic airbrush paint for poly resin?

Thanks

Novacolor is the preferred for those that have been in the industry for a while. You can purchase it direct on their site. Works best if it’s watered down a little.

For a beginner a medium quality “cup gun” is plenty. An Airbrush is not what you need. Do a little research. You will get more use out of a “cup gun” when it comes to restoring boards than you ever would an air brush. The ones at Harbor Freight are a good place to start if you have never used one before. If you have used a cup gun and have some experience; an Iwata is a nice upgrade. There are lots of high end brands. If you know what you are doing, have some experience; You can run any kind of latex paint through it. The kicker is how and what you use to thin it with. I have sprayed lots of boards with flat latex house paint.
